SCC Volleyball Wins Two Matches

The Lady Dolphin Volleyball Team won two matches during the past week, defeating Everett Community College on Wednesday night at ECC. In that match, the SCC dominated on the way to a 25-11,25-20 ,25-14 victory. Freshman Lisa Day led the SCC Squad with 12 kills in the match.

On Friday, Shoreline played Whatcom in a classic battle in the SCC Gym. SCC jumped out to a 2-0 game lead in the match, but WCC fought back and tied the match at 2 games apiece. SCC then dominated the fifth game. Game scores were: 25-23,25-20,17-25,16-25,15-7.

Shoreline is now 14-7 on the season, 3-1 in the NWAACC Northern Region. SCC faces Olympic College on Wednesday night in the SCC gym at 7:00 PM.

SCC Men’s Soccer Team Ties Spokane

The Shoreline Community College Men’s Soccer Team tied the Community College of Spokane on Saturday at the SCC Soccer Field. After a scoreless first half, SCC broke through in the 55th minute as Kevin Flavin scores on an assistant by DJ Drevitch. Spokane then put pressure on the SCC defense and finally, the Dolphins gave way to a goal in the 83rd minute.

SCC is now 0-6-2, after tying its last two matches and is 0-3-2 in the Northern Region standings (Eastern Region Crossover games count in the Northern Region standings this season). SCC opens its Northern Region schedule on the road Wednesday versus Edmonds CC and then plays Saturday, against Skagit Valley College at the SCC Soccer Field at 2:00 PM.

SCC Women’s Soccer Loses to Spokane

The Community College of Spokane scored in the 19th minute and made it stand up as the Lady Dolphins could not muster a goal against the Lady Bigfoot defense.

SCC is now 3-4-1 on the season and 1-4-1 in the Northern Region standings (Eastern Region Crossover games count in Northern Region standings this season). SCC opens its Northern Region schedule on Wednesday against Edmonds CC on the road and on Saturday, against Skagit Valley College at the SCC Soccer Field at Noon.
