Volunteers wanted for Lake Forest Park tree inventory

Sunday, August 1, 2010

The Lake Forest Park Stewardship Foundation is looking for volunteers to help conduct a city-wide Tree Inventory during August and September. The inventory will help form a basis for the tree canopy management plan. This is an opportunity for individuals to learn more about the tree canopy and to become familiar with many areas throughout the community.

They estimate a need of four volunteers per day to help the two team leaders measure and record tree diameter, tree height, size and width of the live crown, tree condition and other data.

If you would be willing to help out at least four hours a day for several weeks (or any amount up to 8 hours 5 days a week), contact Mike Woodbury, pnrc@comcast.net, 206-659-4288 to let him know when you might be available. There will be a 2- to 3-hour training session before the inventory commences.

If more information, call Libby at 206-365-8867 or Mike Woodbury at 206-659-4288.
