Lake Forest Park: Looking for a few good gardens

Monday, January 12, 2015

It really isn’t too early to think about the warmth of summer and the greening of the garden.

The 2015 Secret Gardens of Lake Forest Park Garden Tour and Plant Sale committee is meeting this Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in the Commons at Lake Forest Park Town Center at 9:00am. The committee is still looking for a couple of gardens to add to the 2015 tour.

The tour is best when there are different types of gardens—small compact gardens and larger ones all enhance the tour. The tour has featured gardens that foster bird habitat, rain gardens, specialty gardens that feature roses or ornamental plants.

Do you have a suggestion for a garden that would make an addition to the tour? Would you like to talk to someone about having your garden on the tour? Send an email and a member of the committee will contact you.

The garden tour is also looking for someone to manage the plant sale, which takes place on the lower level of the Town Center on the day of the tour. If you are interested in managing the garden market, send an email or come to the meeting.

And of course, save the date for the Secret Gardens of Lake Forest Park Garden Tour and Plant Sale, June 20, 2015.
