Shorewood plays home soccer match with Wesco 3A South co-leader Glacier Peak Friday after 4-1 home victory over Oak Harbor Tuesday

The Shorewood boys' soccer team plays a game for first place in the Western Conference 3A South against division co-leader Glacier Peak after the Thunderbirds defeated Oak Harbor 4-1 at Shoreline Stadium Tuesday.

The Thunderbirds defeated Oak Harbor on what Shorewood coach Bill Wilkins called "the most wonderful night of the spring."

Taj McChesney opened the scoring for Shorewood in the seventh minute with an assist from Danny Han. Han then converted a corner kick in the 21st minute to give the Thunderbirds a 2-0 lead. Max Sando scored on a penalty kick in the 35th minute for a 3-0 T-bird lead. Dawda Dibba scored on a long pass from Sando in the 37th minute to give Shorewood a 4-0 halftime lead.

Oak Harbor stopped all of Shorewood's second-half scoring chances and scored once to make the final score 4-1.

The Thunderbirds take a 6-1-1 league record (8-1-1 overall) into the 7:30 p.m. Friday home game with Glacier Peak (6-1-1, 6-4-1). 

The Shorewood junior varsity defeated Oak Harbor 6-0 to improve its Wesco 3A leading record to 7-0-1 (8-1-1 overall). The T-bird JVs meet the Glacier Peak JVs (3-2-2, 4-4-3) at 5:30pm.
