The Shoreline Community College Baseball Team split four games with Bellevue College over the weekend, winning 2 of 3 games against Bulldogs on Sunday at Meridian Park in Shoreline.

On Saturday, Bellevue dominated in the first game of the series, winning 8-1 in a 7 inning game. Game 2 at BC was then hailed out by the freak storm that passed through Seattle on Saturday. Bellevue was up 4-0 in the top of the third when the game was called due to weather. It was decided that suspended game would be finished at Meridian Park prior to the start of the regularly schedule doubleheader between the two schools on Sunday.

In the conclusion of the "Hailed" out game from Saturday, the Dolphins fell to the Bulldogs 12-2 in eight innings as SCC could never overcome the 4-0 lead BC had built on Saturday.

In Game 1 of the regularly schedule doubleheader, SCC ace, Jason Shaw (5-1), pitched a four hitter in SCC's 5-1 victory and Kainoai Ahsing-Kanhanui had 2 hits including a double to lead the Dolphins offense. The Dolphins took full advantage of 2 errors and 4 BC walks in the game to combine with 6 hits to win. Shoreline also stole 3 bases in the game.

In Game 2, SCC overcame a 3-0 deficient in the first inning to win 5-4 in 10 innings. SCC scored 2 in the 2nd, 1 in 5th and 1 in the 7th to tie the game at 4-4. In the bottom of the 10, Luke Merkel reached first baseball to lead-off the inning, stole 2nd for the third time of the game and then Kainoai Ahsing-Kanhanui doubled to the opposite field to drive in the winning run. Henry McAree (3-0) picked up the win for SCC with four innings of scoreless relief, allowing 1 hit and one walk with 4 strikeouts.

SCC goes to 14-10-1 on the season, 2-6 in the NWAACC Northern Region. Bellevue falls to 16-11 and 6-6 in the region. Shoreline takes on Douglas College next weekend in a NWAACC Northern Region  four game series, with games 1 & 2 to play in Vancouver, BC on Saturday starting at 1:00pm and back to Meridian Park on Sunday for games 3 and 4 starting at 3:00pm.
