32nd Dems seek a few volunteers for Community Service opportunity

Tuesday, January 1, 2013

Community Service opportunity on Saturday, Jan 12, 2013 from noon-2pm.

Marilyn Dauer, Chair of the 32nd Democrats Community Service Committee, says she could use a half dozen volunteers to help organize the walk-in freezer at Annie's Community Kitchen. Annie's offers a free community dinner every Wednesday night from 5-6:30pm at the Edmonds Lutheran Church in Edmonds.

Volunteers will transport boxes of frozen meats from the outside walk-in freezer to inside the church building, then open, sort, and label and date each box and put them back in the walk-in freezer. (There are carts to help move boxes.)

This is a great activity if you have teenagers who need "community service" as it can be a very physical job. If you have back trouble, this won't be a good job for you. Wear a warm coat and wear warm gloves. We're inside the freezer for very little time, but the weather in January can be chilly.

Contact Marilyn Dauer at 425-478.9261 to sign up and get location and directions.
