Thursday, June 14, 2012

Governor Chris Gregoire is deeply saddened with the death of U. S. Army First Lieutenant Mathew G. Fazzari, 25, of Walla Walla and directs that Washington State and United States flags at all Washington State agency facilities be lowered to half-staff in his memory Friday, June 22, 2012.  He died June 6 in Afghanistan when his helicopter crashed after receiving enemy fire.

Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business Friday, June 22.

Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.

A service for Lt. Fazzari is scheduled at 11:00 am on June 22 at Assumption Catholic Church in Walla Walla.
