Shorecrest boys open Wesco 3A play with Tuesday home game with Oak Harbor after 48-37 loss at Roosevelt

The Shorecrest boys’ basketball team opens Western Conference 3A play with a Tuesday, Dec. 5, home game with Oak Harbor after the Scots lost their non-league opener at Roosevelt of the Kingco 4A Conference, 48-37, Tuesday, November 29.

Shorecrest and Oak Harbor play at 7:15 p.m. at Shorecrest High School. Junior varsity teams from the two schools meet at 5:40, with the “C” teams playing at 3:45. Oak Harbor opened its season with a 59-52 loss to Cascade of the Wesco 4A South Tuesday. The Oak Harbor junior varsity has a 2-0 record after defeating Cascade Tuesday and Anacortes of the Northwest Conference 2A division Wednesday. The Oak Harbor “C” team is 2-0 after defeating Cascade and Anacortes.

In Shorecrest's loss to Roosevelt, the Scots fell behind 13-5 after the first quarter and 27-13 at halftime and made only a slight gain on the Roughriders in the second half. Junior Chibuogwu led the Scots with 16 points, Dylan Pontrello scored 8, Joe Ghebrehiwot added 5 and Conin Oishi had 3.
