Neighbors volunteering for the Densmore Pathway project celebrated the completion of the first stage of their project to create a landscaped pathway on the right-of-way between Densmore and Ashworth at 188th N.

Under the sponsorship of the Echo Lake Neighborhood Association, the project is funded by a City of Shoreline mini-grant.

A neighbor who is a landscape architect donated the design and volunteers are doing the installation and planting.

Project coordinator Suzanne Wynne said, "The project will transform a poorly maintained cut through to a beautiful and accessible pathway. Wildlife habitat will be created as well as a small community gathering place for the neighborhood."

Part of the pathway area is currently being used by the contractor building the sidewalk along Ashworth.  They will be using the west side of the pathway until the beginning of November. However, Thanks to negotiation by the City, the contractor has offered to install the pathway in the space they are using and will build up planting beds for the project.

The next work party is scheduled for November 12. Contact Suzanne Wynne to volunteer.
