Obituaries are condensed biographies of people's lives, written by the people who loved them. Like a memorial service, they tell us things we may not have known about the person, and may leave us wishing we had known them better.

David R. Gronlund 1957-2011. Graduated from Shoreline High School, attended SCC. Worked at United Cerebral Palsy Center in Shoreline. Driver for King County Metro Transit. Resident of Lake Forest Park. Services at First Christian Reformed Church in Shoreline.

Rosamond Earhart Miller 1922-2011.  Funeral mass at St. Mark in Shoreline, burial at Holyrood Cemetery in Shoreline.

Edward Devos  1929-2011.  Born in Belgium, lived in Canada, made his home and raised six children in Shoreline.

Fr. James Edward "Jim" Mallahan  1927-2011.  Ordained a priest in 1952.  Served at St. Mark's in Shoreline.

Gloria E. Jensen  1920-2011  Born on a sheep station in Australia, she married an American sailor during WWII and ended up in Seattle.  In her fifties, she worked for SCC as an operator, acquiring the unofficial title "the voice of SCC."

Kristofer D. Nelson  1959-2011  Remembrances to the Calvin Presbyterian Church Music Fund, Shoreline.

Ralph William Johnson  1922-2011  Lived in Shoreline for 39 years.  Worked for the Washington State DOT.  Ham radio operator.

Darlene A. Mallett  1919-2011  Long-time resident of Richmond Beach.  Services at Richmond Beach Congregational Church, Shoreline.

Winifred Frances Sandbloom  1918-2011  Services at Northwest Church in 15th NE in Shoreline.

Richard W. Spellacy, Sr.  1923-2011  Celebration of life at Holyrood Cemetery in Shoreline.

Helen M. Strand  Graduated from Bremerton High School in 1933.  Died in Shoreline 2011.

Betty Jean (BJ Bus) Korsmo  1946-2011.  Resident of Lake Forest Park.  Taught at Northshore Alternative Program at Lockwood Elementary in Kenmore.  "Her family suggests that you raise a glass in memory of her delightful spirit."

Georgina Lumbera Joson Ludwig  1963-2011  Born in Manila, passed away in Shoreline.  Services at St. Mark's in Shoreline.

Kathleen Desmond Stang  1942-2011  Taught part-time in the Home Arts Division at Shoreline Community College.  Published five cookbooks and over 150 food related articles in magazines and newspapers.  Interment at Holyrood Cemetery in Shoreline.

Jimmie E. Warren  Passed away 2011 at the age of 80.  Life time member of Shoreline Rotary.

John Czarniecki, Jr.  Died 2011 at the age of 98.  Burial at Holyrood Cemetery in Shoreline.

Francis L. "Frank" Headrick  1908-2011  Built his own home in Shoreline where he lived for almost sixty years until his death.  Fly-fisherman, member of the Washington Fly Fishing Club.  Proud of his 28 years of sobriety, he had many friends in AA.

Ethel Norman  1921-2011  Donations to First Lutheran church, 8th NW in Shoreline.

Gertrude "Trudy" Waschkies 1931-2011  Memorial services at Saint Dunstan's Episcopal Church, Shoreline.

Ryk Van Spoor  1936-2011  Resident of Kenmore.  Active member of the Lake City Elks and served as their Exalted Ruler twice.  Loved to bowl and had many friends at Kenmore Lanes.  Memorial services at Lake City Elks in Lake Forest Park.

Vilem "Bill" Sokol  1915-2011  UW music professor, founded and directed Seattle String Society, principal violist Seattle Symphony Orchestra and conducted many Young People's Concerts.  Conductor of Seattle Youth Symphony.  Burial service at Holyrood Cemetery in Shoreline.

Wilma E. (Franz) Hrdlicka  1927-2011  Resided in Seattle, Shoreline, and Bothell.  "She has been reunited with her prince and shall dance her waltz for eternity."
