Shorewood girls return to Wesco 3A play Wednesday after third loss in Wesco-Kingco challenge

The Shorewood girls’ basketball team returns to Wesco 3A play Wednesday, after losing three games in the Wesco-Kingco challenge Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 28, 29 and 30.

The Thunderbirds take a 1-3 Wesco 3A record (2-8 overall) into a Wednesday, Jan. 5, game at Glacier Peak (2-2 Wesco 3A, 5-5 overall).

In a 43-33 loss Wednesday to Liberty (3-1 Kingco 3A, 7-3 overall), Shorewood led 13-7 after the first quarter and 17-13 at halftime before falling behind in the second half. Lisa Echert led the T-birds with 9 points.

In a 49-41 loss Thursday to Mount Si (3-1 Kingco 3A, 7-3 overall), the Thunderbirds again led, 13-9 after the first quarter and 19-17 at halftime before Mount Si took control In the third quarter. Masha Shtikel led Shorewood with 14 points.

The Thunderbirds had lost Tuesday to Roosevelt (2-2 Kingco 4A, 5-4 overall) 47-43.
