American Dance Institute expanding to Shoreline and opening Jan 2

American Dance Institute (ADI), which has offered dance classes to adults, teenagers, and children in Seattle for more than 28 years, is expanding to Shoreline.

The new Shoreline studio, at 1240 NE 175th St, is in the North City neighborhood, just a half block from Walgreen’s Drug and Safeway. ADI schools include several family-friendly features such as bright, spacious, and sunlit studios, an inviting parent observation area, a fun and non-competitive, non-intimidating environment.

“We cater to all levels - dancers who are new beginners, dancers returning after an absence from dance, and active intermediate level dancers. American Dance Institute’s balancing of technical training with each student’s creativity is unique among area dance schools, and flows from our extensive teacher screening, training, and mentoring,” said the owner and founder Elizabeth Chayer.
“Dance should first and foremost be joyful, and it’s equally important to us to have a friendly class culture in addition to great technical training.”

The Shoreline location is being remodeled to add a sprung dance floor, a state of the art sound system, a fresh new color scheme, and a spacious observation room with free Wi-Fi.

The observation room offers parents a space to stay and watch their child while visiting with other parents and is available during certain classes.

“We are so excited for ADI to be part of the wonderful Shoreline and Lake Forest communities, and have structured the studio to be very accommodating for busy families,” explained Chayer.
“And we work very hard to make sure all of our students enjoy their time here. This is a welcoming and non-competitive environment for dancers of all ages and skill levels.”

ADI’s commitment to top quality dance instruction as well as creating an invigorating and supportive atmosphere is also seen in its family-friendly policies, such as accommodation for overlapping school sports schedules, easy tuition payment plans, chemical-free studios, and a money back guarantee if a student is not satisfied with the class. Risk-free trial classes allow students to explore Ballet, Hip Hop, Modern/Contemporary, Jazz and Tap dancing. There are also free 4-week “Mommy/Daddy and Me” toddler classes.

“We plan to open a new music school as well, said Chayer. We will be making that official announcement very soon.”

American Dance Institute has two locations in Seattle, one in Greenwood and one in Magnolia.
