Shorewood and Shorecrest conducting Advanced Placement testing this week

Tuesday, May 3, 2016

Both Shorewood and Shorecrest will be doing AP testing over the next two weeks. Shorewood will have 450 students taking 782 exams and Shorecrest will have 275 students taking 459 exams.

Shorewood testing is being conducted at the Shoreline Center, while Shorecrest is using their own gym.

The exams are scored on a five-point scale:

  • 5- Extremely well-qualified
  • 4- Well qualified
  • 3- Qualified
  • 2- Possibly qualified
  • 1- No recommendation

Many colleges and universities will grant credits or offer advanced placement based on a student’s AP test score. Most require at least a score of 3 to grant credit.

For those of you with some AP credit going to Shoreline Community College - those credits allow you to register before other new students who don't have any credit - very handy when trying to get in to the classes you need at the time you want!
