Geoff Vlcek, a frequent contributor to these pages, won the People's Choice Award for photography at the recent Shoreline Arts Festival, with this shot of Seattle taken from atop the Space Needle.
Geoff's piece was taken with a Sony a99 camera and a 16mm fisheye lens.
Said Geoff "I am so glad that so many people have been enjoying my photos and following me on social media. I really am lucky to get to do a job that I love every day. It is a real honor to win an award when it is the public voting."
Geoff added, "The voting was so close - 35 - 34, that I gave the prize to the 2nd place winner. It was a $75 gift certificate to a Lake Forest Park framing store.

id like to hear comments from peeps that went to the festival. I've given up because it is so boring - same-o, same-o, year after year. if you're a geezer with a walker its the place to be.
