"Sweeter than candy: Students and teachers share unforgettable moments of joy in creative costumes.”
Celebrating the spirit of the season, Shoreline IEUM Korean School held a special substitute event named ‘Happy Day’ on Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31, 2026 replacing traditional Halloween festivities with a heartwarming gathering for students, teachers, and teacher assistants.
The school's cafeteria and courtyard were alive with vibrant colors and imagination as students, teachers, and staff proudly donned creative and adorable costumes, bringing an extra spark of excitement to the classrooms.
During snack time, teachers distributed candies, chocolates, and treats to the students. The children joyfully shared snacks, admired each other's imaginative costumes, and laughed together, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Although various weekend community events caused some absences, preventing the entire student body from attending, the spirit of the day remained undimmed.
Particularly on Saturday, the Seattle skies cleared up with brilliant sunshine, allowing everyone to take wonderful commemorative photos in the school garden and play energetically on the playground—truly living up to the name "Happy Day."
“While we missed having every single student with us due to scheduling conflicts with other external events, it was still a deeply meaningful time,” a school representative shared.
“Dressing up in costumes, holding classes together, and sharing laughter in the sun allowed teachers and students to grow even closer. We look forward to continuing to create happy, lasting memories for our students beyond language education.”
