On October 19, 2019 the biggest line-up of all-star northwest comedians in Seattle history will take the stage in support of Comic Aid and its inaugural recipient, Seattle comedy legend Rod Long.

For 35 years Rod Long has made thousands of people laugh as well as being an active member of the Seattle community. His name is on the plaque at Century Link Field honoring those who spearheaded the campaign to Save Our Seahawks. He has given his time to numerous charity events and, until a year ago, has continued to bring the laughs to audiences all over the world as well as here at home.

For the last year Rod has been in the battle of his life against pancreatic cancer, enduring major surgery and undergoing 27 rounds of chemotherapy.
Miraculously, Rod is going to beat this cancer as his last scan showed it was in remission and doctors are very optimistic that he will be cancer free when the treatments are over.

Unable to work for over a year, Rod’s savings have been wiped out leaving him and his fiancĂ©e with piles of bills and concerns over losing their home. This is the reason COMIC AID was started.

Comedians and musicians who make their living on the stages of the NW provide the rest of us with a joyful reprieve from the daily grind of life. Many live from gig to gig and take second jobs to survive, but they do it out of love and passion, giving of themselves to others, bringing joy and happiness.

COMIC AID will be a source of funds to help entertainers get back on their feet and working again after a medical catastrophe. These funds will serve to help pay bills and day-to-day living expenses while they recover.

The first annual COMIC AID will make giving back the funniest thing you’ve ever done!
