Support veterans by donating to Buddy Poppy project

Saturday, November 10, 2018

Local veterans will be out again on Saturday in front of Fred Meyer, accepting donations for their Buddy Poppies.

They will have red Buddy Poppies and two different sizes of American Flags.

10 members of VFW Post 3348 will be located at the two main entrances to Fred Meyer, spread out over various shifts from 9:00am to 5:30pm on Saturday, November 10th.

Other members of the Post will be at the Fred Meyer store on NW 85th in Greenwood.

They are all volunteers and do not get paid anything for their time. Stop by and say hello - thank them for their service.

We still have WWII vets in our community - they are in their 90s. There are a lot of Korean War vets - they are in their 80s. VietNam vets are in their 70s.

Listen to their stories - wear their poppies - donate to veterans causes.

I like your article and agree, we need to listen to our vets. Powerful ending to the article, "Listen to their stories - wear their poppies - donate to veterans causes."
