Salish Sea by Leah Rene Welch


The featured show at Gallery North for the month of September is “Eclectic Approach” featuring the paintings of Leah Rene Welch.

Leah has been a Gallery North member artist for several years and is known for her vibrant, heavily textured paintings. Leah paints a wide range of subjects in a variety of styles from meticulous realism to expressive abstracts and impressionism, always with an eye toward keeping things interesting.

“I like to paint with non-traditional implements - with my fingers being my go-to tool.”

During the month of September there will be a silent auction for one of Leah’s paintings with the entire amount going to Orca Network. Orca Network is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness about the whales of the Pacific Northwest and the importance of providing them healthy and safe habitats.

The artist reception for “Eclectic Approach” will be on September 8, 2018, from 1- 4pm at Gallery North. 

The public is invited to come see the art, meet the artist Leah Rene Welch, and enjoy refreshments. Leah also will be present at Gallery North during Edmonds Art Walk on September 20th 5 -8 pm. The exhibit will be open to the public daily through September 29th.

In operation for more than 55 years, Gallery North is one of the longest running artists’ cooperative galleries in the nation. It continues its mission to promote and sell local art in the heart of beautiful downtown Edmonds.

free (and hopefully happy). The
boho mermaid is a fun twist. Don't
see why they can't be "hip" too.
