Local veterans honor groop
SVA member Sonney Alverez,
Post 227 members Raymond Coffey, Gerry Shogren, Bob Grasmick

On Monday, October 2, 2017 members of the Shoreline Veterans Association and The American Legion Post 227 lowered the flag at Gateway Plaza to half mast after the Las Vegas shooting.

After President Trump ordered all flags to be lowered to honor victims of the Las Vegas shooting the local Veterans groups sent members to render honors as the flag was lowered.

Gateway Plaza is located at N 185th and Midvale, just off Aurora.

From the Governor's Office:

Pursuant to the Presidential Proclamation issued October 2, Governor Inslee hereby directs that Washington State and United States flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff immediately, in honor of the victims of the attack in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business or sunset on Friday, October 6, 2017.

Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.

Please call 360-239-1317 if you have any questions about this flag lowering.
