Missing teenager found in Federal Way

Florida girl found in Federal Way
after disappearing from Skagit County

Katelynn “Katie” Barlow, 14, is now safe with law enforcement authorities after she was located in Federal Way Thursday afternoon. She appears to be healthy and unharmed, but will be assessed further.

The joint investigation by the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI developed information that led to Katie at a mall in Federal Way. Before her recovery around 1pm, she was last seen on Sunday, July 17, around 10:30pm in the Big Lake, Washington, area, where she had been vacationing with extended family. Katie’s home residence is in Brevard County, Florida.

Investigators appreciated the abundance of tips, and support for their search. There have been no arrests. The investigation will continue in order to learn more about the circumstances of Katie’s disappearance.
