Thursday, October 23, 2014

Halloween is a very big deal at Third Place Commons, with halloween-themed events from Saturday to Halloween.

Starting Saturday, October 25, with the Northwest Ballet Halloween Dance Recital 12-12:45pm, get into the spirit of the season with chilling and fun dances.

A couple of hours later, see the Halloween Belly Dance Hafla 2-5pm for a Halloween celebration of belly dance, with spooky costumes and spirited shimmies. Ottoman Belly Dance and Pied Peacock Productions team up to put a little shake in the season.

The next day, Sunday, October 26, see the Beyond Expectations Piano Recital from 2-3pm as young artists aged 6 to 16 celebrate Halloween with piano pieces to chill and thrill. Funny, wild and scary!

Take Monday off, but come back on Tuesday, October 28 for Scary Stories for Brave Listeners 7-8pm. Local storytellers will share frightening, yukky, and true tales of ghosts and hauntings, followed by an open mike for audience members with a scary tale to tell! Refreshments will be served (to survivors.) This program is not recommended for young or timid listeners.

Take a break from orange and black on Wednesday, October 29 with the 96th Street Combo 7-8pm,
featuring advanced students from Music Center of the NW, presenting jazz standards and modern compositions in a style that is relaxed and entertaining. Learn more about the Music Center of the NW.
