The Shorewood volleyball team steps out of regular-season Western Conference 3A play with a Saturday tournament at Glacier Peak High School.

Play in the Reach to the Peak Tournament starts at 8am Saturday at Glacier Peak.

The Thunderbirds improved to 2-0 in Wesco 3A play (5-2 overall) with a 3-2 home victory over Stanwood Thursday. Shorewood won by team scores of 28-26, 20-25, 25-19, 23-25 and 15-5.

Delaney Hopen had 22 kills, 12 digs and 4 aces; Ellie Rettenmier had 14 kills and 10 aces; Jane Tarabochia had 6 kills and 4 blocks; Hayley Hodgen had 48 digs; and Joely Shepard had 24 digs. 

The Shorewood junior varsity and “C” teams both lost to Stanwood, 3-0.
