The Shorecrest girls’ basketball team takes a 3-2 Wesco 3A record (4-7 overall) into a Friday game at Oak Harbor (0-4 Wesco 3A, 1-9 overall) after a Wednesday home victory over Mountlake Terrace (2-4. 4-8).

In the 52-33 win over Mountlake Terrace, Shorecrest broke a first-quarter tie by outscoring the Hawks 29-11 in the second quarter and 13-7 in the third. India Matheson led the Scots with 17 points, followed by Janie Uppinghouse with 16. Brianne Lasconia added 10.

Matheson, Lasconia, Uppinghouse, and Shannon Schachle all have double-figure scoring averages for the first 11 games of the season

From the MLTnews.com:
The second quarter was the difference maker in this one, as the Scots put up 20 points to just 4 for the Hawks. The Hawks turned the ball over 15 times in the first half, suffering in ball handling and scoring without their point guard and leading scorer, Mindy James, who was out with the flu. Terrace only lost the second half by two points, led in scoring by freshman Maddy Kristjanson on 6-7 shooting, finishing with 13 on the night.
