Shoreline District Court Judge Marcine Anderson leads challenger Dennis McCurdy in early returns, with nearly 60 percent of the vote to less than 40 percent for McCurdy.

Returns came from about half of the expected turnout.

Anderson and McCurdy were running for the seat to which Anderson had been appointed in January. The County had created the new position last year.

Longtime incumbent Judge Douglas Smith was unopposed.
