Shorecrest High School Marching Band wins top honors in Dublin St. Patrick's Day parade

The Shorecrest band won top honors in Dublin

Shorecrest Band has been awarded the Best Youth Band in the Dublin St. Patrick’s Day parade, repeating an award they won on their last parade appearance in 2008.

Principal Pat Hegarty will be attending the awards ceremony to receive the honors.

The Shorecrest Marching Band, led by Directors Vince Caruso and Alec Wilmart, has sent 136 members of the elite band, the pipers, the lassies and the flag team to Ireland to compete in this world wide competition. 

Millions of people line the 3.5 mile parade route to watch the event.

Following the Dublin Parade the contingent will continue on to Celbridge where they will perform in another St. Patrick’s Day event before heading back to Dublin to enjoy the festivities of the day.
