Travelers should expect a
busy traffic weekend, Aug. 9-12. The following map highlights some of the big events that may affect traffic across the state. Please note that an unfavorable forecast has postponed this weekend's lane reductions on the SR 99 Aurora bridge, hence the red x on that work.
- Postponed: SR 99 Aurora Bridge: One lane in each direction. Weather-dependent work from 7pm Friday, Aug. 9, to 5am, Monday, Aug. 12.
- Mariners vs. Rays: Friday, Aug. 9, to Sunday, Aug. 11, at T-Mobile Park
- Sounders vs. New England: 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at CenturyLink Field
- Southbound I-405 Sound Transit closures: At Northeast 6th Street in Bellevue from 10pm Friday, Aug. 9, to 5am Monday, Aug. 12
- Westbound I-90 maintenance closure: Between Mercer Island Lid and Mount Baker Tunnel from 10pm Friday, Aug. 9, to 5am Saturday, Aug. 10
- Southbound I-5 traffic switch: To new alignment at SR 16. Weather-dependent work overnight from Saturday, Aug. 10, to Sunday, Aug. 11
- Festival at Mount Si: Friday, Aug. 9, to Sunday, Aug. 11, at North Bend
- Move-in Weekend at WSU: Prepare for increased traffic heading to Pullman
- Mumford and Sons: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at the Gorge Amphitheatre
