Live and Local for Saturday, June 15, 2019

Wednesday, June 12, 2019

There's a lot of live and local music to choose from each weekend. Most venues have food, some have dancing. Most have a cover charge and require reservations. All have great local bands and entertainment!

This Saturday, June 15, 2019 here's what's happening:

Larry Murante and Kristy Smith - $10 Cover  8 - 10:30pm
Kristy Smith is a divine songwriter with a crystal clear voice and lyrics that stay in your head for days. Her pop/folk sensibilities have been finely honed over several decades of performing with bands 3 Track Mind, Billy Moon, and Honey Pie.
Larry Murante is a Seattle-based singer/songwriter who has a reputation as one of the finest contemporary singer/songwriters in the Northwest. His voice is a testament not only to good pipes but to years of training which he's done, logging over a decade of study with opera, jazz, and musical theater stylists.
North City Bistro and Wine Shop, 1520 NE 177th St, Shoreline 98155, Call 206-365-4447 or go to website and fill out the simple reservation request form, in order to secure seats for the show. Then buy your tickets here.

Aurora Borealis Presents: Comedian Jimmy Shubert - $15 cover - 8:30pm - 10pm
The Aurora Borealis 16708 Aurora Ave N, 206-629-5744.
Jimmy Shubert delivers ‘tough love’ with side-splitting skill. He is every bit as satisfying as Lewis Black at his best. Whether it’s stealing scenes in major motion pictures or blowing the roof off any comedy club from Hawaii to Halifax, Jimmy Shubert is stand-up comedy’s next breakout star. His comedy routine is usually performed with an observational point of view, in comedic short-story form, and typically focuses on poking fun at pop culture.

Sado Nation, The Lucky Boy, Kids On Fire 9pm – 1am.
Darrell's Tavern 18041 Aurora Ave N. 206-542-6688.
Heavy rock metal and punk bands at Shoreline's own Dive Bar. Live music, vintage decor, pizza, tacos, hotdogs, and free pool.

Little Bill and the Bluenotes 8 - 10pm. $7 cover. 206-420-1326.
Easy Monkey Taphouse, 17537 15th Ave NE B.
Little Bill and the Blue Notes are an institution more than a band. Since 1956 Bill and various lineups have been wowing audiences with their take on rhythm and blues. In 1959 the Bluenotes made the national charts with the teenage love song “I Love an Angel” and since then have released a bevy of recordings.

85th Street Big Band 7:30 - 9:30pm FREE and family friendly.
Third Place Commons Town Center, intersection of Bothell and Ballinger Way NE in Lake Forest Park. This lively 19-piece big band will play their swinging favorites from the 30s, 40s and 50s.

Polly O’Keary and the Rhythm Method  8 - 10-10:30pm $10 cover
Grinders Italian Restaurant 19811 Aurora Ave N
Reservations highly recommended; 206-542-0627
One of Washington State’s most highly-awarded female blues singers and songwriters (six-time Washington Blues Society Best Female Vocalist, four-time Best Blues Songwriter, etc.), her music reflects the life of a modern blues woman; she’s seen the river rise and take everything more than once, and lived to laugh, sing, and write music about it.
