Saturday, August 18, 2018
The American Legion Post 227 in Shoreline will hold a special meeting at 6:30pm Wednesday evening, August 22, 2018. The meeting will be held at Post 227, located at 14521 17th Ave NE, Shoreline 98155.
Clare Walderman will speak about her remarkable military experiences beginning in the US Army, then transferring into the US Air Force with incredible assignment accomplishments and eventual retirement with the rank of Major.
While serving in Desert Shield/Desert Storm in Iraq with the 46th Army Combat Support Hospital (CASH) supporting the 24th Mechanized Infantry Division, she helped care for Iraqi prisoners of war and none died in the care of CASH.
Upon coming back to the U.S., Clare was welcomed home with parades with General Schwarzkopf and General Colin Powell. Her husband, Gary Walderman, was scheduled to speak on the Hero’s Café, but will be unable to attend. There will be an opportunity for questions after the presentation.
This will NOT be a regular meeting of the Post but a Special Presentation Night only!
While you are at the meeting, you can check out the Post Library that includes a large collection of militarily related books, video tapes and DVDs. Any of these can be checked out, used and returned by post members and community without charge.
All members of the community, whether a military veteran or not, are welcome to attend to hear the presentations. We look forward to seeing you at this special meeting.
