2017 Grand Champion

Washington Koi And Watergarden Society held their 26th Annual Koi Show Saturday, September 23 and Sunday, September 27, 2017  at Sky Nursery on Aurora Avenue and NE 185th.

Each year in September the Washington Koi And Watergarden Society holds a Koi show and competition. Members of clubs from the northwest and Canada bring their BEST fish to be judged by expert Koi breeders, including a judge from Japan.

Large fish in competition

There are large fish in competition and small fish for sale at the show. The judging takes place on Saturday afternoon and usually lasts most of the afternoon as the judges ponder the intensity of the colors, shape of the markings, shape of the fins and the shape of the fish itself.

Sales area was very busy

There was a large sales area where collectables, Show Pins, T-Shirts, books, banners, and baby Koi are for sale.

Small koi were on sale.
