Get Creative with the Arts Council this Fall

Designed to be one-night introductions to a new art process, these workshops are geared towards adults, and are a great change of pace for an evening out with friends. Come out and play with the Arts Council this fall at one of our creative workshops.

We supply the instructor and materials, you supply the imaginative spirit!

Workshops are $35 each (or get a season pass for$150) and start at 6:30pm. Join us in the Horizon Room of the Shoreline Center, 18560 1st Ave NE, Shoreline, WA.

Soft pastels - Mary McInnis

Intro to Soft Pastels with Mary McInnis - Wednesday, September 9 – Get Tickets

Create your own pastel painting, while exploring color mixing and effects. McInnis will talk about materials, tools and techniques, and have each student participate in color exercises. 

Book Arts - Jessica Hoffman

Book Arts with Jessica Hoffman - Wednesday, September 23 – Get Tickets

Create one-of-kind books, using found imagery – such as old magazine and book clippings, and explore low-tech printmaking techniques to create unique patterns and images. 

Fused glass - Dolors Ruscha

Fused Glass Pendants with Dolors Ruscha - Wednesday, October 7 - Get Tickets

Learn about design and the right ways to layer dichroic glass in order to achieve the most vibrant colors for your pendants. This is a fun & creative way to make truly personal jewelry. 

Paper collage - Jan Clem
Paper Collage with Jan Clem - Wednesday, October 21 – Get Tickets

Collage is a French word meaning “to glue.” Participants will be gluing ephemera, and a variety of papers, to “paint” a picture that tells a story. 

Watercolor - Kathy Collins

Watercolor with Kathy Collins - Wednesday, November 4 – Get Tickets
Students will learn to achieve dramatic high contrast paintings using large brushes, charging in color, and mixing flowing wet paint right on the paper.
