American Idol finalist sings jazz at the North City Bistro Wednesday

Wednesday, September 17, 2014 will be something that is somewhat unique for the North City Bistro, 1520 NE 177th St, Shoreline, WA 98155.

Sanjaya Malaker, who was a finalist on American Idol a few years back, will be performing with the Chaz Lipp Group.

Sanjaya is actually originally from this area, and attended freshman year of high school at Shorecrest, before moving to Federal Way.

Sanjaya is wrapping up a summer of performances around Western Washington before returning to his current residence in New York City. Performances included a benefit for Gilda's Club at the Triple Door in Seattle.

On September 17, he will be joining the jazz quartet The Chaz Lipp Group for an evening of Great American Songbook standards, including "Summertime" and "Come Fly with Me."

Among his projects is a recording project with The Chaz Lipp Group.
