Yoceline Cano-Camacho
competing for Miss Washington

Yocelin Cano-Camacho is 20 years old, and a Shoreline resident. Born and raised in Toppenish, Washington. Yocelin comes from a Hispanic family. She was raised into agriculture where she learned to work at a young age.

Yocelin works full-time as a Pharmacy Assistant, and is currently a student at Shoreline Community College where she is majoring in Bio Medical Engineering. In addition, Yocelin is also part of AmeriCorps as an Asthma Educator.

Yocelin's view of beauty? She said, “it doesn’t matter how you look, what matters is what is inside; beauty is art. Remember art isn’t supposed to look nice, it was supposed to make you feel something. So make your presence known, be art.”

Yocelin will be competing in the Miss Washington USA pageant as Miss Toppenish USA 2013. This year’s pageant will showcase contestants from all across the state of Washington, and the prizes, cash, scholarships and awards will probably be similar to last year, which was valued at over $900,000. The Miss Washington USA® and Miss Washington Teen USA® pageants will be held October 18 - 19, 2013 at the Highline Performing Arts Center in Burien.

There is an online component to the competition. The most online votes for the People’s Choice will automatically make the Semi-Finals of the pageant and the Miss Photogenic voting is also live.

The winner of the MISS competition (18-26 yrs) will compete live on NBCUniversal for the MISS USA® title.
