Our Shorecrest HS Hip Hop Team competed at WIAA State Dance/Drill Championships yesterday (Friday) at the Yakima Sun Dome and took FIRST PLACE in the 3A Hip Hop Category!!
Competing against 7 of the other best high schools in the state in our category, the Hip Hop team took top honors as well as having the highest score in the whole competition out of 60 performances in ALL categories and classifications 1A/2A/3A with a score of 281.4 (out of 300)!! The team finishes with an undefeated record for the season including the district title.

It has been amazing to watch this team. The highest kudos go to the kids, and coaches Rex Kinney and Angelo Buelva who have given the team not only a life long passion for dance but also a work ethic that earned them the spot they hold, and the gift of a team that supports each other as a family.
CONGRATULATIONS to the Shorecrest Hip Hop Team! You had an outstanding year of exciting performances and undefeated competitions, culminating in the State Championship and highest overall score out of 60 groups! These accomplishments will go with you in whatever you pursue and be remembered your entire lives. Equally inspiring is the dedication shown, sacrifices made, and comradery as a team.
