Crime in Shoreline A-Z 
A week of crime 12-31-2012 to 1-6-2013


Arrest – Two men were arrested on the street near their home for outstanding warrants, possession of burglary stuff and drugs. At Twin Ponds, a man who was sitting in his car was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Burglary – There were five residential burglaries. In two, the entry was through a rear slider. Three went through the window, cutting the screen or breaking the window. One burglar cut his hand, so police have blood evidence. In the commercial burglary, the front door of Spin Alley was forced and an attempt made to break into the ATM machine.

Car prowls – A dozen of these netted three purses. Most were in public places, SCC dog park, Walgreens on 145th, a church on 5th NE, Aurora Safeway, Boeing Creek Park, Highland Ice, Six residential neighborhood car prowls were in N and NE Shoreline

Car theft – Cars were stolen from 1500 3rd NE and 14600 9th NE. At 20300 Whitman, the car license plate was stolen, windshield cracked, gas stolen. A scooter was stolen and dumped from 1600 N 190.  

Church – Prince of Peace reported another piece of missing music equipment. St. David Emmanuel's front door plexiglass panels were scratched and their banner torn. The Eritrean church had a car prowl with a purse stolen.

Dine and Dash – Denney’s on 155th

Drunk or stoned driving – a driver crashed into a rock wall, then tossed 145+ grams of marijuana when police arrived. Another drove drunk and crashed into a parked car. 

Drunk pedestrian – Person stumbling down Aurora, walking southbound in northbound travel lane.

Drunk at home – Roommates were drunk and fighting, yelling and punching walls. Another call, a man alone in apartment was drunk and throwing things; there were guns in his home.

Fraud – a man was scammed into sending money to a prison inmate; a resident reported his bank card was being used in Utah.

Larceny – a purse stolen from a shopping cart in Fred Meyer. A locker broken into at the YMCA.

Mail theft – 1600 Densmore, 1900 16th NE, 20300 30th NE, 500 N 145th, 1530 Corliss. In several cases, thieves got outgoing checks, washed them and reused immediately.

Shoplifting – Eight cases reported. Aurora Safeway, Costco, 3 at Fred Meyer, RB QFC, 2 at Sears. At Safeway, the thief was chased and left his wallet behind. At Sears, the thief was being watched on security cameras the whole time.

Taggers – graffiti at Boeing Creek Park and the playground equipment at Twin Ponds.

Theft – from an unlocked room at the Shoreline Motel.

Threats – text messages were sent to Tent City threatening to burn it down.

Traffic stops – a car of teens who smelled like marijuana and the driver had a license violation. Another driver had an outstanding warrant and cocaine.

Vandalism – 16700 Linden, tires were punctured. 1700 5 NE tires slashed. A married couple argued at a party and he ripped the wires out of the steering column. A man broke the windows of a car with the victim inside.

Z - incidents of death, drug overdoses, attempted suicide, mental breakdowns, custodial issues. A man was Trespassed from the Bank of America. Two adult roommates got in a fight and one chased the other with a knife. An elderly woman with dementia got lost in the Costco parking lot. A woman met a man on Facebook and invited him over. He wanted her to fight with her neighbors and when she wouldn't, he broke her window.
