Friends of Aldercrest pleased with Shoreline Planning Commission recommendation for Aldercrest zoning changes

Friday, March 4, 2011

from Janne Kaje, Co-chair, Friends of Aldercrest

Last night the City of Shoreline Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of proposed zoning changes that will create a permanent 6-7 acre city park at Aldercrest Annex.

This is a huge step forward for Shoreline parks and the culmination of over two years of work by the Friends of Aldercrest, Ballinger Neighborhood Association, and our many friends and supporters throughout Shoreline, Lake Forest Park and Mountlake Terrace.

This could not have happened without the strong support of the Shoreline School Board and Superintendent Sue Walker, as well as the commitment of the City Council and staff to making this vision a reality.

The final decision will be made by the City Council. A study session is scheduled for March 21 and the decision is currently slated for the business meeting on March 28.
