Garage sale signs were all over the Ridgecrest neighborhood

Outdoor events are always a dicey affair in Puget Sound, but the Ridgecrest neighborhood lucked out on Saturday.

The sun was shining and the air was clear.

Donations to thrift shops have doubled since Marie Condo
These items no longer "sparked joy" for the owners


Saturday, June 1, 2019 was the annual Ridgecrest garage sale day. Neighbors set up garage sales in their front yards, driveways, wherever they had space to put out treasures to sell.

Church parking lot sales


Even more people set up parking lot sales at Tabernacle Baptist Church and Grace Presbyterian.

The youth group was out in force at Seattle Grace Presbyterian


It was as much a social - get to know your neighbor - event as it was a sale. But a lot of items were recycled into new homes.

If you weren't ready this year, you now have a whole year to find things to sell next year.
