City staff recognize volunteers

Text and photos by Marc Weinberg

On Thursday evening the City of Shoreline hosted an early evening celebration to acknowledge the volunteers that help make Shoreline a vibrant community. Some of the volunteer groups present were:
  • Shoreline ACS Ham Radio Emergency Communications  Team
  • Shoreline Council of Neighborhoods
  • Shoreline Community Emergency Response Teams
  • Shoreline Parks Volunteers
Volunteers contributed more than 9,000 hours in 2015 to city projects and activities.

The buffet table was popular

The event included snacks and beverages as well as the sounds of Peter Ali "Native American flutist"... music from the spirit and the heart.

All this was followed by some quick team building puzzle activities and a raffle of door prizes from local merchants.

Shoreline celebrates its volunteer community like this once a year. To find out where you can contribute go to the City's website.
