Northwest Coordination Center fire map

At least six of the wildfires in Washington were recently started by lightning.

Fire conditions will likely remain elevated this week with hot temperatures combining with dry lightning across the region.
Current firefighter resources in the Northwest: 1,465 firefighters and support personnel; 57 engines; and 16 helicopters.

As wildfire season continues, please stay alert and follow local fire restrictions. Every action counts in reducing human-caused fire starts.

  1. For all the fires that are human caused it seems we could elevate the level of consequence through heavy fines for fireworks and criminal charge/prosecution for those convicted of starting the fires through negligence or intent. Very greatful for our hard working fire crews !
