What to Donate for the Shoreline Food Drive

Throughout October, local businesses and organizations are coming together to help stock the shelves at the Shoreline Hopelink Market.

Look for Shoreline Food Drive collection sites around the community and drop off much-needed food and household essentials.

The five Hopelink no-cost Food Markets collectively serve thousands of families and individuals each year throughout north and east King County.

Donations collected during the Shoreline Food Drive will help keep market shelves stocked with a diverse selection of nutritious foods and other everyday necessities.

What to Donate

The Shoreline Hopelink Market is currently requesting a variety of non-perishable foods, including canned meals; canned tuna, chicken and other meats; healthy cereals and oats; canned or dried fruits and vegetables; pasta, rice, quinoa and barley; soups and broths; shelf-stable oat, almond and soy milk; nut and seed butters; cooking oils; spices; flour; and sugar and salt.

The market is also seeking non-food essentials such as baby food pouches, wipes and pull-ups; feminine hygiene products, toothpaste and toothbrushes; toilet paper and paper towels; and reusable or paper grocery bags.

All donated items should be non-perishable, unexpired, and in their original unopened packaging.

  1. Am I the only reader that believes this is an abomination that more people have to use food pantries when this country is generating so much wealth? Don't tell me it's illegals getting this food - it's our neighbors that were born here and have jobs and still can't feed their families due to multiple issues - not only "this" administration but also in the price of fuel, weather affecting crops, redirection of Federal $ to multiple programs - whatever it is I hope you can sleep well for now, and you don't need to stand in this line when the A.I ( oh I mean S.I.) crash happens.
