In preparation for this year’s elections, King County Executive Girmay Zahilay and Director of Elections Julie Wise were joined by King County Councilmember Rod Dembowski, Shoreline College President Dr. Jack Kahn and Shoreline Deputy Mayor Eben Pobee to cut the ribbon on the new ballot drop box at Shoreline College.
King County Elections has recently installed 15 new official ballot drop boxes and yesterday celebrated the brand-new drop box at Shoreline College in Shoreline. These latest additions bring the county’s total to 100 ballot drop boxes. King County Council recently passed funding for additional drop box locations and security improvements ahead of this November’s midterm elections.
“We have a goal to be the most accessible democracy in the world. We want King County to have the most ballot drop boxes, the most places to vote of anywhere in the nation,” said Executive Girmay Zahilay.
“We make progress through our democracy. The more ballot boxes we open, the more accessible they are in neighborhoods, the more inclusive we can be in our democracy. We’re going to keep going until there’s a drop box in every community in King County.”

The more the better! I tried to deliver my ballot via the mailbox at Central Market and it was completely filled. I've never had that happen before.
