I joined the 2026 Nordic Innovation Summit at the National Nordic Museum in Ballard to discuss progressive policies across nations and global efforts to combat climate change. 

When I meet with Nordic leaders, they often joke that I would be considered a moderate in their countries, because universal healthcare, education, and other social safety nets are the bare minimum! 

While there is still a lot of work to be done to pass these policies in the US, talking to these leaders makes me hopeful that we can get it done. 

And as Trump works to dismantle much of the goodwill and relationships we have with nations across the globe, it is critical to rebuild these relationships, foster our transatlantic partnerships, and work together to address the issues we face globally.
