Community Access Pedestrian, bicycle and emergency responder access will always be maintained, but Traffic Detours, temporary lane shifts and flagging operations will occur.
- Reminder: SB 40th Place NE is closed N of SR104 through late November 2026 - NO vehicles other than construction personnel & equipment are allowed to travel in both directions on 40th Place NE.
- NO vehicles other than emergency first responders are permitted to travel SB 40th Place NE to SR 104.

- September 1–4 — Water main installation along 184th; Wall 2 pad preparation and installation.
- September 3–4 — Mass excavation in front of Wall 2 location.
- Week of Sept. 7 — Water main work along 40th, Wall 3 pad preparation, curb/sidewalk demolition, and water-main testing.
- Week of September 21 – Structural support for Wall construction begins.
- Active construction equipment in the corridor.
- Temporary traffic control and intermittent lane shifts.
- Safe pedestrian routes maintained.
- Bicycle accommodations maintained.
- Emergency responder access maintained at all times.
- Retaining wall, water main, excavation, and roadway-related work progressing through the corridor.
- Dust control and erosion protection measures throughout construction.
Will the road stay open?
- Yes. Traffic will be maintained with temporary control measures.
- Yes. Pedestrian and bicycle accommodations will remain available.
- Yes. Emergency responder access will always be maintained.
- Water main installation, retaining wall preparation, excavation, curb/sidewalk demolition, and related roadway work are scheduled through mid-September.
