Join Sound Transit to celebrate the opening of Pinehurst Station on September 30, 2026

Join Sound Transit and community partners to celebrate the newest addition to the region’s Link light rail system: Pinehurst Station! The opening day event will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 20266 from 2 – 6pm, featuring live music, local organizations, sponsors, food and more.

Attendees can look forward to an interactive activity with station artist Romson Bustillo and soon-to-be-announced new Pinehurst merchandise and other Sound Transit branded gear at the ST Shop popup booth.

The ST LifeSTyle team will also be on site giving away prizes from the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Theatre Group, Dick's Drive-In and more.

Sound Transit’s newest Seattle station will connect communities near NE 130th Street to high-capacity rail rapid transit service, with 1 and 2 Line trains arriving every 4-5 minutes.

Originally projected to open in 2031, the Sound Transit Board advanced Pinehurst Station into final design in February 2020 and approved additional budget and contract changes for the accelerated delivery in 2022.

King County and the City of Seattle have begun making changes to facilitate pedestrian and bus access to the new station. King County Metro Transit launched the new Route 77 in August as part of a recent service change that provides regular east-west station connections, and Seattle’s Department of Transportation is making improvements on NE 130th St., including the addition of curb-protected bike lanes and upgraded and new bus stops.
