148th Non-Motorized Bridge span update

The bridge span currently sits along the west side of the freeway

Construction Update: The bridge span for the 148th Street Non-Motorized Bridge is coming together.

Crews are currently assembling the bridge structure on the west side of I-5 near the 145th Street southbound off-ramp. The bridge span will be placed on the piers overnight in late October or early November 2026.

This new connection will create a safer, more accessible route for people walking, biking, and rolling between neighborhoods on both sides of the freeway.

It provides an alternate route to the double roundabouts for non-motorized travel.

It connects the 148th trail on the west side of the freeway to the Shoreline South Transit Station on the east side of the freeway.

The bridge will provide a direct and safe way for pedestrians to reach the light rail station
