After a water main break at NE 195th and Ballinger Way was discovered on Tuesday evening, August 11, 2026, the road was closed and the North City Water District and additional resources were on scene working to address the issue.
Officers from the Lake Forest Park Police Department and deputies from the King County Sheriff’s Office routed traffic around the work site as the water district crew worked through the night to find and repair the leak.
Diane Pottinger, North City Water District Manager, said
"Our crews would like to thank those agencies that assisted with us in our emergency event last night/early this morning. We really appreciated those of you that were on the roadway last night and slowed down near our job site.
"Our equipment was a bit loud and may have impacted the sleep of those residents nearby and we apologize for this.
"We were able to find the source of the leak and got it repaired just before 4:00 am. We do have some temporary road patches to clean up, hopefully over the next few days. We expect to have a permanent patch sometime after that."
