Americans deserves president who puts country, them first
The president encouraging deadly tactics by ICE agents, an embarrassing performance at the NATO summit, chaotic war with Iran, and continued reports of self-enrichment at taxpayer expense brought out 55 area residents to protest this past Sunday.

Some may think that a "small" crowd, but it is a powerful reminder week in and week out that bad behavior, unconstitutional and anti-democratic behavior, and behavior that harms the American people will not - and should not - go unremarked.
The beauty of "Social Justice Sundays" sign-waving is that it reminds passers-by of what is at stake, and it reminds those who attend they are not alone in wanting better for their friends, family, neighbors and country.

Sign-waving is scheduled for every Sunday in July (7/19 and 7/26 remaining), 1-2pm at the intersection of Aurora Avenue North and N 205th St, at the Shoreline-Edmonds line.

Organized by local group Everyday Activists (@everydayshoreline.bsky.social), non-perishable food and toiletry donations will also be accepted for donation to a local charitable organization.

I love and am sympathetic to immigrants but it is clear where the politics of Shoreline Area News stands by always covering the protests and Shoreline Area News should take a nonpolitical stand.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could suggest the same to Fox News? I see this as Pamela's personal editorial, not the SAN position. If you'd like to write a column and sign your name about why you support the current administration I would be happy to read it. It makes me sad that peoples' concern about illegal immigration seems to blind them to everything else going on in the world much of it orchestrated by our President. Can you say "bomb Iran"? Starve Cuba? Enrich the Trump family with bitcoin? Grant contracts for multiple millions of $ without any agency oversight as required by law?
ReplyDeleteThe Shoreline Area News does a great job covering and running announcements about what’s happening in Shoreline and area communities - breaking news, local government and school news, what citizens, local organizations and businesses are doing, and more. Covering something isn’t the same as taking a stand - though standing up for Constitutional rights and principles is usually considered a good thing, especially when you are a key legacy of the First Amendment.
