Blood Moon

Shoreline resident ShiXing Wen was able to find a break in the clouds to take this gorgeous photo of the Blood Moon.

A total lunar eclipse occurred at the Moon’s descending node of orbit on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, with an umbral magnitude of 1.1507.

  1. Shixing knew the cloud cover in Shoreline would block the view of the total lunar eclipse. As a photographer, who is also a perfectionist, he started driving eastward. After 5+ hours, he found the perfect spot. Hayden Lake, Idaho. Thank you Shixing for this perfect photo and a sleepless night.❤️
