What about the other taco stands on Aurora Ave? The one across from the old Bartell Drugs and in front of Safeway?
ReplyDeleteWhat about them?
DeleteCan’t we have anything fun? I ate there and it was awesome. Fun. Maybe instead of just shutting things down, send someone out to get them their permits and create a small business.
ReplyDeleteIt's not just a matter of submitting a paper, paying a fee, and there's the permit. They need to meet very basic standards--hot water, refrigeration! Send someone out there to do what? I like where that might go--help by providing info and resources. But don't give a food permit when the very basics aren't there.
DeleteThis is crazy who cares really! Go worry about the prostitution on Aurora. They don’t have permits either 🤣🤣🤣 and they are selling stuff.
ReplyDeleteBest comment ever!
DeleteThey were delicious! And affordable!! Maybe don’t make it impossible for small and independent businesses to start here in Shoreline. The barriers and costs are too high. Who else remembers all the amazing espresso carts of the 90s?? The city makes it almost impossible to open a cafe or coffee shop and also doesn’t allow these things!
ReplyDeleteFrom the inspector's report, it was more than just not having a permit. I'm more concerned about the "insufficient refrigeration" and the lack of hot water and handwashing.
ReplyDeleteOf course they were affordable. They weren't paying for little things like refrigeration or hot water. Those things are expensive!
ReplyDeleteAlso, were they paying B&O taxes? Were they collecting sales taxes and remitting to the state? I know that my life would get a lot less expensive if I too could ignore the laws I'd rather not follow.
I hope they weren’t paying taxes. The state just wastes the money anyway. Save the tacos!!
DeleteIf I have to follow the rules so do they. How many folks did they sicken due to lack of refrigeration and hot water. Send them to ICE if deportation is required.
ReplyDeleteI’ve never had food poisoning from a taco stand, but plenty of times at buildings with hot water and refrigeration. Leave the taco stands alone!
DeleteEsos negocios son un peligro para la salud y afectan al comercio organizado están operando en toda la ciudad aparecen y desaparecen la misma noche y siempre están llenos el departamento de salud debe tener vigilancia nocturna
