Public Health closes Echo Lake due to toxic algae levels

Public Health is closing Echo Lake due to high toxic algae levels.

Do not fish, wade, swim, or enter Echo Lake.

Do not allow dogs to enter or drink from Echo Lake.

Toxic algae can cause severe illness or death in humans and animals.

City staff will continue weekly water testing, and the lake will be reopened when King County Public Health recommends it.
