Pedestrian struck and killed on Aurora Thursday morning

Early Thursday morning, March 30, 2023, Shoreline police officers investigated a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian accident in the 16700 block of Aurora Ave N.

The investigation was turned over to MARR, the King County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Response and Reconstruction Unit.

We encourage pedestrians to practice safety especially at night, such as carrying a flashlight to increase your visibility and walk only on sidewalks.

  1. That’s some nice victim blaming. Why don’t you scold drivers to be careful too?

    1. No one is blaming the victim. You don’t know the circumstances of this situation or who was at fault. It is simply a reminder for all of us…

    2. Nowadays it’s both who might be at fault: firstly, there are a lot of homeless people around Aurora, especially at night randomly walking into the middle of the street; not aware because, unfortunately, they may be on drugs or have other mental health issues, or they don’t care (and will shout aggressively, flashing the finger) that they are walking in the middle of the road. So many possibilities!
Also Joy Riding/Drag Racing is a big problem, if not a perfect place for going super fast. Police need to be more aware

  2. Pedestrians in our area are notorious for wandering into the road like they're protected by a forcefield of righteousness. Yes, everyone needs to be more careful, particularly the people who aren't protected by a safety cage.
